- Start small and simple. Stay focused.
- Keep it organized and update often.
- List dates, times, and locations clearly.
- Make your contact info easy to find.
- Choose appropriate page titles
- Write clear and concise instructions.
- Try to create consistent navigation.
- Spellcheck everything before posting.
- Reduce scrolling. Keep pages short.
- Minimize clicking. Use direct links.
- Don't center the whole webpage.
- Use standard fonts for your text.
- Choose a high contrasting color for text.
- Solid backgrounds reduce eye strain.
- Avoid using dark backgrounds.
- Avoid using photos as backgrounds.
- Don't post photos over 100 kilobytes.
- Make your buttons look like buttons.
- Omit needless words. Keep it simple.
- Don't list "Under Construction" pages.
- Remove any and all dead links
- Try to minimize excessive white space.
- Avoid adding too many advertisements.
- Avoid using fancy splash pages.
- Don't add background music.
- Listen and react to user comments.
- Respect people's privacy
- Always ask for permission.
